Financial Well-Being

Public Service Loan Forgiveness – Action Needed by October 31, 2022

Notre Dame is a qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), a federal program that forgives the remaining balance on eligible student loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments while working full-time for a qualifying employer.

For a limited time, the PSLF program is granting credit for past periods of repayment that would not normally qualify for PSLF. To qualify for the credit, you must complete and submit the temporary waiver by October 31, 2022. After October 31, 2022, the PSLF will continue, but you may lose out on the one-time chance to receive credit for past periods of loan repayment.

Find more information about PSLF eligibility in the Article on Public Service Loan Forgiveness or via the Federal Student Aid website.
