More about LaTonia:
LaTonia Ferguson is a self-proclaimed Work Futurist & Content Strategist. She has worked in the areas of educational, career & professional development for over twenty years. Her journey with the University of Notre Dame began thirty-five years ago, during middle school, when she participated in a series of programs focusing on the educational attainment of first generation/low income students. She credits the University with strengthening her love of education which encouraged her to pursue and obtain her Bachelor of Science in Public Health in 1998, and Master of Public Affairs in 2002, both from Indiana University.
An avid believer in full circle experiences, she returned to the University in 2006 to work in The Career Center as an undergraduate Career Counselor focusing specifically on diversity initiatives. In 2011 she transitioned to the Office of Human Resources as a Consultant in the area of Learning & Organizational Development where she assists her colleagues on campus with their educational, career, and professional development endeavors.
The common thread throughout her career is a sincere desire to provide resources and services that help individuals, groups and organizations obtain or sustain their purpose and passions. Her professional experiences vary from working in the field of mental health, with prison reentry programs, state service agencies, early childhood centers, community colleges, universities, and corporations; all within the theme of finding what you love and enjoy, and then taking the steps to achieve it. She is an avid proponent of positive psychology and holistic & intentional development.
She currently serves on a Global Advisory Board with the Future Talent Council, and is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, she is a proud “Midwestern girl” happily residing in her hometown with her husband, two beautiful sons, and their rescue “dog daughter” Valentina.
