The Neuroscience of being your Best Self: What Good Sleep, Moderate Stress and Positive Emotion can teach us about Leading (and Living) Well

-

Location: Zoom

Contemporary Neuroscience and Psychology research have much to say about the optimal brain state for learning, creativity, performance, and leadership. In order to function optimally, the brain needs three things:

1. Good sleep

2. Moderate stress

3. Positive affect

All three areas intersect and are neurobiologically linked, so targeting any one of these areas for improvement has the benefit of affecting the others. This talk by Dr. Jessica Payne, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, will focus on how these factors independently and interactively influence cognition, leadership, and well-being.
