“It's not about the world of design, it's about the design of the world.”
— Bruce Mau

Ann-Marie Conrado, an assistant professor in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design, will present about using design and design thinking to address social and humanitarian concerns here at home and abroad in Nepal. She will touch on the role design can play in ensuring that solutions and interventions are focused on people and their needs and aspirations and how anyone can tap into their own creative confidence to think differently.

She will also highlight the Nepal Artisan Project she founded in 2007 which has Notre Dame students traveling to Nepal to design and develop craft goods that open up markets and opportunities for disadvantaged artisans. Following the talk, participants will be invited to be the first to purchase these hand-crafted gifts for the holidays in a preview of the annual Badin Hall Conscious Christmas event held on Friday, November 30.

Cost to register is $5 and includes your choice of lunch from Au Bon Pain.
