Keynote: Gender and Negotiation in the Workplace

-

Location: McKenna Hall

We need to negotiate in many circumstances, from a salary or business contract to working with our colleagues.  Research shows that gender can affect the success of a negotiation because men and women approach situations differently. Negotiation skills can be learned, and although gender may influence our approach, both men and women can use some of the same strategies to improve negotiations.

In this keynote, Dr. Susan G. Williams will share how awareness of the factors that create gender-related advantages and disadvantages in negotiations can help promote a more egalitarian workplace. Light reception to follow.
